Looking back at an award-winning journey for Care Horizons
2023 has been an incredible year for Care Horizons. As a key player in South Gloucestershire’s social care landscape, we have made it our aim to be a trailblazer in our sector, not only supporting our clients, but continuously showcasing our commitment to excellence. And for this, we have been honoured to receive a momentous number of accolades – we still can’t believe it!
Let’s take a look back at this incredible year and Care Horizons’ journey with our CEO Vierka Hiscock:

2018: A Pivotal Moment in a Parliamentary Review
In 2018, Care Horizons made our mark by participating in a Parliamentary Review into social care. This milestone showcased the Government’s dedication to shaping the discourse surrounding social care policies and practices, underlining its commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration within the industry.
2020: Bristol Prestige Awards Recognise Excellence
2020 added another mark of success when we were honoured with the Healthcare Service of the Year Award at the Bristol Prestige Awards. This significant accolade not only acknowledged our commitment to outstanding social services, but cemented our position in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire community.
2022: A Personal Triumph
2022 was a year full of personal triumphs, as I was honoured to grace the pages of the Official Platinum Jubilee Pageant commemorative album as a Women Leader. Being recognised in such a commemorative work was an experience I will never forget.
Celebrating HM The late Queen’s birthday at Claridge’s added a regal touch to the year. It wasn’t just a celebration; it was a testament to HM’s The late Queen’s ability to lead with grace and dignity, mirroring the qualities befitting a successful business leader, and an icon to emulate.
2023: A Literary Honour and Business Transformation
As 2023 unfolded, I was honoured to receive a distinguished invitation to contribute to ‘King Charles III: The Leadership and Vision of a Modern Monarch.’ This book, crafted to mark HM King Charles III’s birthday, not only pays tribute to the monarch, but also casts a light on the impactful work a number of the UK’s small businesses have done within sectors like social care.
The inclusion of Care Horizons in this commemorative book was a testament to the positive transformation the company has undergone over the past decade. As a leader, I have tried to steer the organisation to explore new heights, whilst at all times ensuring we make a lasting impact on both the business and the community we serve.
Care Horizons’ journey from the Parliamentary Review to the Bristol Prestige Awards, my own personal triumphs, and our recent literary honour are testament to our commitment to excellence and driving positive change. As we continue to make strides in the social care sector, we can only hope to be honoured with further accolades and accomplishments, but let’s wait and see.
