Accessing Information

Care Horizons operates an Open File Policy in which customers may consult their own file in the presence of their care staff or a member of Care Horizons. 

Clients, relatives and purchasers are actively encouraged to take a positive role in developing the quality of services offered. They may, if they so wish, discuss any aspect related to the management of the service and its delivery of care with the director. 

Key Policies, Procedures and Staff Training

All staff undertake a formal interview and a minimum of two verified references are obtained. They also have to obtain clearance from the Criminal Records Bureau prior to being introduced to the customer. 

All care staff hold substantial knowledge and experience of working in the caring field and are regularly updated on theoretical and practical training. Supervisions are carried out with all staff every 3 months. 

All care staff has to follow policies and procedures and regularly undertake training in order to meet statutory regulations. New members of staff undertake an induction course and will work along side an experienced carer as part of their induction. 

Hours of operation

Care Horizons provides a 24-hour service to its customers. The main office of Care Horizons can be contacted between 08:30 hours and 17:00 hours throughout the week.

Evenings and weekends an emergency service is provided through an answering telephone service. In which the customer may leave a message and contact details. And they will be contacted as soon as possible.

The Commission of Social Care Inspection

They carry out annual inspections of Care Horizons in which, as a part of this process, they have access to all information held by the organization on all its customers and staff. As a part of this process they will also contact a random selection of customers in order to arrange a visit to discuss the services and standards of care provided. The report that they produce will be available for all customers and staff to see, and will be held at Care Horizons Head Office.
